Looking for an emoji keyboard for Facebook? Type instead.

Search "emoji keyboard for Facebook" and you get a row of extensions that all bolt yet another picker onto a site that already has one. The problem was never a missing picker. The problem is that any picker takes your hands off the keys mid-sentence.

Where the other option wins

Some Facebook-specific keyboards bundle stickers and custom artwork that Unicode simply does not have. If stickers are what you are after, one of those is the right tool, because we only type real emoji characters.

The verdict

If you want stickers, get a sticker extension. If you want 😂 in a comment before the moment passes, typing beats any panel.

Questions

Does it work in Facebook comments as well as posts?

Yes, and in groups, Marketplace messages and the post composer. Facebook builds all of them on the same Lexical editor, which keeps a private model of your text; the extension talks to that editor through its own events so nothing gets duplicated or dropped.

Will it work on Messenger too?

Yes, on messenger.com and in the chat windows inside Facebook.

Do I need to give it access to my Facebook account?

No. There is no account, no login and no connection to Facebook at all. The extension runs locally in your browser and watches for a colon while you type. It never reads or sends your posts anywhere.
