Heavy snippet work belongs in a dedicated tool. If your list is "some emojis and about five bits of text I retype", this covers it for nothing.
Questions
Can Emoji Anywhere expand text snippets, not just emoji?
Yes, within limits. Custom shortcodes let you map something like :sig: to any text you like, which covers short sign-offs and stock phrases. What it does not do yet is multi-line templates with fill-in fields, which is exactly where a dedicated text expander earns its subscription.
Does it work outside the browser?
No. It is a browser extension, so it works in any text field on any website, but not in native desktop apps. If you need snippets in Word, the Slack desktop app or your mail client, you want a system-wide expander.
Will the emoji features ever go paid?
No. If a paid tier arrives it will be for heavier text-expansion features, and it will not remove anything that is free today.
